Sorry it has been so long since my last post. As you would expect life has been busy, especially trying to get adjusted to live in Lake Geneva.
For starters, we truly love it here. There has only been 3 thunderstorms roll through other than that we have 60 to 85 degree sunny weather every day! Which was killing Joe in Seattle. Not really, but he would tell you that he hates the weather in Seattle. It also has allowed me to "try" and get into running. It is more like running 2 miles and walking 1, but at least I'm getting out there and now I don't have an excuse because it is flat.
Also we have been trying new restaurants. We found a fabulous Chicago style pizza shop downtown Lake Geneva that overlooks the lake! Great view and even better food. But we recommend a small pizza could feed 4 people because it is so dense! Not California pizza kitchen style! We also went to a great Mexican restaurant the next town over for Joe's birthday that had great authentic food! You can see why I'm trying to run everyday because we are eating all this great food!
And then this last weekend, I got an amazing opportunity to come back and work in Belingham at one of our sites for a couple of days while also getting to see my terminally ill Grandma. It was a quick trip but it was sure worth it because there is nothing like being 2000 miles away from family when you know someone is sick. Please keep her in your prayers and hopefully she will not be in much pain for much longer.
Lastly I have to say I'm not sure if I never noticed it living in Seattle, but I feel like the Midwest really likes celebrating Halloween. There seems to be decorations everywhere. But I have to say the fall colors here are absolutely incredible here maybe it is because the sun is also shiny down on the trees. But the trees seem so vibrant. But there is one drawback with this area, which if anyone has any ideas on why or how to solve the bug issue right now I would love to hear! So for the past two weeks it has been above average temperatures which for some reason all these large and gross bugs have come out of the fields, they look like stink bugs who have been covering the entire front of our office building and of course when some one goes outside some of them fly in! Gross! So a coworker and I have been trying to kill the ones that come into office. The only good thing is that it must get to cold for them at night so they all died and then the next morning a new fresh batch of them come alive to bask in the sun. I didn't plan to share the sun with bugs! Hopefully this doesn't go on too much longer.
Hope everyone is doing well and Joe and I are coming home for Christmas from Dec 24 through Jan 2nd so hopefully we can catch up then! Love you all!

Things that we have learned...
Since we have moved to Wisconsin, there have been a couple of things that we have learned. We would like to share them with you Seattlites and followers because to us they are quite funny!
Items we have learned so far...
1) According to the Walmart cashier, all "drinking fountains" are called "bubbiers." (I'm not sure if I even spelled that correctly.)
2) Also according to the same Walmart cashier, all "pop" is referred to as "soda."
3) All mailboxes do not have locks on them and they are the standard old mailboxes. Apparently everyone here trusts everyone :).
4) Joe and I got to move into our apartment without paying our rent check at first...We had to remind them the following day that they needed to collect and once we reminded them, then they gave us the month of September discount and didn't charge us for the pro-rated dates of August that we moved in early...(Plus they had already waived our pet deposit prior to us moving in and we thought that was a bonus.)
5) At the restaurant, "Next Door Pub" best pizza in town, only charges $2.50 for a bottle of Miller Lite and $3.50 for a glass of wine!! We might be drinking more often.
6) There is a walking travel around the entire lake through people's private property to enjoy the lake. (Now when would people around Lake Washington or Lake Sammamish let random strangers walk through their yards.)
7) Gas is only $2.65 unleaded. (Need I say more.)
8) You have to pay to get on the beach. (Luckily when you are town residents, you get a free beach pass.)
9) Dreyer's ice cream is called "Eby's" out here. But with the exact same packaging. Kind of odd
10) Last, but not least, we have learned that the time difference has really effected us. We can't call people when we want to because of the time difference.

1500 miles completed
Day two is now in the books.
What an adventure it has been. It started out leaving at 7 am Thursday morning and heading directly to Spokane to see Joe's family for the day. We made excellent time and arrived around 11am. Once, we arrived, we laughed and caught up with Joe's family. We had a blast! Then we were off by 10am yesterday morning to head towards Billings, MT to stay for the night. Then this morning we left at 8am to make it to Fargo, ND. We just arrived and are putting our feet up by ordering pizza and having it delivered to the room so we can relax and so Joe can watch baseball.
Now that we have gone 1500 miles, listened to 5 of the 6 CDs Susanne made for us, filled up the gas tank 5 times, and ordered room service twice. We have had a good time. George has been amazing, for all you people out there who drugged your pet to get across the country,we haven't had to drug him once and he has only cried half of the first day. He is actually just sitting in his crate and sleeping with his favorite blanket. And of course when Joe thought that he was getting restless today he let him out of his cage and George walked around the car while I was still driving 80 miles an hour and then when he was done he went back into his cage for another nap. Such a great kitty! We were so nervous about travelling with him. To be honest this morning, he wasn't happy to back into his cage because he just wanted to sleep under the hotel bed. But thank goodness we didn't have the movers take the broom so we can use it to get the cat under the bed. It must have looked weird when I entered the hotel this morning holding a broom.
Time for a Meganism says Joe. Of course, I need to give you some background so the story makes more sense. We have been looking at two maps to see how far we have gotten and on both of the maps they show the time zone changes in it. FYI, make sure to include time zone changes into your day schedule because we didn't yesterday and it made for a long day. Ok, back to the time zone funny. I was the co-pilot at this time and I was telling Joe that about 20 miles outside of Bismarck the time zone changes to Central time, but then about 40 miles from Bismarck a sign shows up on the side of the road stating 'Central Standard Time Zone' and of course Joe is quick to mention that my mileage is off and that I'm not a good co-pilot. My response is that the 'Time Zone' line must have moved and Joe says it can't do that. If there is anyone out there that can state it did move, I will have win! Jury is still out.
Well, that is all for now...God bless and only 560 miles to go and then we will be in our new home! FYI, people are already having an accent in Fargo!

In the beginning
Well...where do I start with the opening of our blog? I feel like I have a hundreds of thoughts racing through my head. The first thought that came to mind was 'in the beginning.' Just like in Genesis, God talks about all the things he has completed and was preparing for earth. I feel like the last four weeks, we have done nothing, but prepare for this wonderful and amazing journey! And now we are ready!
But then, my next thought is about all the wonderful friends and family that we have around us! We truly feel blessed, it is amazing all the great people that have supported us. We can not thank you guys enough and this journal is dedicated to all you guys to make you feel like that you are part of our journey too! And now we have a cool camera to take even pictures too! How cool is that!
Now that we only have less than 24 hours until we leave, I'm filled with mixed emotions, but overall quite excited! Almost every time when you go on a trip, the day before you can't sleep the night before because you are so excited and like I want to pinch myself to know that it is real. But when we were cleaning out our apartment yesterday, it felt real that we were moving. It hasn't totally sunk in that we are moving across the country, I feel like right now that we are going on a long road trip. Now all of our stuff is gone and it is now with the moving company (please pray it all gets there safely by next Monday) because we just paid them everything. Joe and I were joking that the joke is on us if it doesn't arrive and we just paid everything upfront! We have been living with my parents for the time being, which has been great to just sit back and enjoy their company! They even helped us last night do a dress rehearsal with the car because of course we didn't give enough stuff to the moving company so had all the last minute items that need to go in the car (trash can, mop, cleaning supplies, etc.) But we got it all to fit, it is going to be tight, of course with our large and in charge cat (George). We will make sure that George is well represented in this journal because he is apart of our family too!
We wish everyone health and happiness and we will truly miss everyone, but as a dear friend told me "find a church and then a couple you like and steal all their friends." And that is just want we plan to do. :) So sit back and enjoy and I promise the "Meganism" and wonderful Joe's comments will be posted on here for the world to enjoy and laugh at. Honestly, I'm a little scared, but oh well! I also apologize in advance, for the future grammatical errors that I will have. I promise you that I'm not an excellent writer or even a good writer and I don't try to be. I'm just me and that comes with some "unique" language :) Thanks again for all the love and support! Last Saturday, we had a BBQ and Joe and I were driving to it and we were running late, but we were going through the list in the car to make sure that we had everything. I asked Joe "We have charcoal, lighter fluid.." Joe responds, "Do you have matches or a lighter for the lighter fluid?" I say "No, that is what I thought the lighter fluid was for." Joe just shakes his head :) Got to love when I don't think before I speak.
